On the Move Flashcards
Rear Tyres
large tires that sit at the back of the chassis. The motor powers these tires
Front tyres
small tires at the front of the chassis, they support the dragster
Chassis
the ply wood framework which supports and holds everything together
Switch
sits at the back of the chassis, when turned on, the motor moves, and when powered off the dragster doesnt move
Battery
The power source which makes the dragster be able to move, sits in the centre of the chassis
Motor
When powered on, it spins a plastic wheels which makes the tires spin and the dragster move
If the air doesn’t move around the object easily, it is caused by ……
Air resistance
what are some aerodynamic features that you can put on a dragster?
curvy, pointed at the front, symmetrical, large at the back and thinner at the front
What shaped objects help to create aerodynamics ?
smooth and curved
Gears
the mechanism used to power something
Resistance
the unwillingness of inanimate or living things
Solder
a low-melting alloy used for joining less fusible metals.
Engineered systems
a system designed to interact or adapt to complete multiple goals
Acceleration
a vehicle’s capacity to gain speed.
Energy
power derived from the utilisation of physical or chemical resources.
