Taxi fuel - what should you be careful not to exceed?
Max ramp weight may not be exceeded with taxi fuel on board.
Contingency fuel - if no SCF avail what will you be loaded with instead?
Greater of:
- 5% planned trip fuel
- 5min hold speed 1500ft above dest
Will be indicated on OFP
When can CONT fuel be used?
Any time after commencement of flight (ie after push back or engine start)
What does alt fuel take into account?
3 things
2 dest alt scenario

2) missed app stop alt to cruise and Des to alt
3) Fuel for app and ldg at alt
2 dest alt - fuel to get to one which req greatest amount of fuel
When is ADDITIONAL FUEL used?

15min 1500ft above aerodrome ISA
Check OMA for eng fail/ press schenario notes
What is extra fuel?
Extra fuel when there are sound operational or economics reasons for doing so

7) forecast icing conditions
Fuel penalty for a ZFW change
Fuel increase = Weight change x 0.03 x ( T+C+D+R)
Fuel penalty increase diversion fuel
Increased div fuel x 0.03 x (T+C)
Fuel penalty for uplift of extra fuel
Extra fuel x 0.03 x T
Can you change taxi fuel?
Yes - you may reduce statiscitical taxi fuel to take account of expected delays on the day
How to modify trip fuel
+5kg/nm
-4kg/nm
Reduced contingency fuel (SCF)
Discuss…
If SCS avail, fuel can be reduced to GREATER of:
CONT 90
OR
5min hold speed 1500’ above dest
Criteria for fuel enroute alternate
Circle 20% total flight distance
Centre of circle 25% from dest (or 20% + 50nm) WHICHEVER IS GREATER
*still air
