Carriage of PRM
Cx and Purser will be advised of details of conditions of all PRMs
If Px unfit to fly, Purser must involve Complaints Resolution Officer in addition to Ground Medical Support
Medical cases may be not be disabilities but Communicable Diseases may be under Part 382
Cx makes final decision following advise from Ground Medical Support
For non-US travel, Emirates has the final say. For US travel, provided Px has appropriate docs we should fly them. Cx can overrule based on safety but must submit documentation within 24h justifying why
Stretchers permitted?
Yes but must always be accompanied by competent attendant
Engineering must be consulted to arrange aero-stretcher + O2 if required
Cx and Purser must be informed
Px must be fitted with shoulder harness towards front of AC
If seatbelt sigh no, stretcher must be in flattest position
Helping animals
Must be allowed if requested
Only seeing or hearing dogs allowed on US, Canadian and EU flights
Carriage can be denied due to threatening behavior
Dog must not interfere with cabin services
Relocate any Px bothered by dog
Where should ambulatory px be seated
Aisle seats near floor-type emergency exits but not in seats immediately next to doors
2 ambulatory px cannot be saty across an aisle from each other
Visually impaired, deaf or obese px seating
Must NOT be allocated in same row as an emergency exit
Pregnancy
For uncomplicated pregnancy, not medical letter required up to end of Week 28, after this a letter is required stating fitness to fly and expected delivery date. If after Week 36, px MUST get approval from Emirates Medical Services to fly (Week 32 for multiple pregnancies)
All complicated pregnancies require a letter and approval by Emirates Medical Services
Px illness
Cx permission required to open medical kit (EMK) - for severe allergic reaction it can be opened immediately and Cx informed ASAP
Purser will make entry in Cabin log and Cx will enter in Tech Log
Inadmissible passengers, deportees and people in custody
Normally embarked before and disembarked after other passengers
No more than 8 Unescorted Deportees (DEPU) and no more than 1 Escorted deportee (DEPA) on a flight unless approved by Emirates Group Security
Prisoners must be escorted at all times and may be under some form of restraint. Cx and Purser must be aware of them and they should be seated discretely at rear of AC
Unaccompanied minors
Aged 5-11 and completely Pursers responsibility
