Stabilized Approach

*“Destable” after 1000’AAL “Stabilize” thereafter if external condition push aircraft beyond the stabilized parameter , the approach shall be re-stabilized at latest 500’AAL (without config change)
**Landing flaps selection should be initiated by 1,500’AAL for instruments approach , Crew may change landing flap to full & complete landing checklist by 1000’AAL

OMA 1 Organization & Responsibilities
- authority comes from 2 source the law of Thailand & the Pilot status within company
- PIC duty -> Refueling , walk around , permit FO T/O L/D , fuel log , VR , technical log , ASR , cross checking each other document , Shutdown APU if no Engineer
hand over aircraft to authorized ground personnel , next flight crew taking charge , aircraft parked locked sealed - Copilot duty -> Complete document , Calculate T/O data , OFP , leaving the flight deck clean & tidy
- Station without Engineering support PIC shall carry out walkaround fill up & sigh off fuel log
- In event of diversion PIC shall carry out refuelling
OMA 4 Crew Composition
- Age 65 years shall not act as a pilot of an aeroplane on a public transport flight (บริษัทเรานับปีปฏิทิน)
- 1 cabin crew for every 50 passenger seats
- Chain of command (by Seniority if same position)
PIC -> CP -> SFO -> FO -> Second FO -> SCC(in charge CC)-> CC
TRE -> SFE -> TRI -> Line CP
OMA 5 Qualification requirement
- Command Upgrade -> Age 28+ , 4000hr , 2000 company hr , SFO (or 5000hr)
- CAAT regulation -> 3 T/O & L/D in 90 days in an aircraft , flight sim or
30 days before flight crew shall either been PF ,PM in an approved flight simulator same type (บินก็ได้) - Coft , OPC , LVO valid 6months (not less than 4 months)
- Type Rating , IR , Line check , SEP , CRM , Security valid 12months
- DG valid 24months

F/O L/D Ceiling/Vis Straight in app with 500’/1600m

OMA 6 Crew Health Precaution
- Alcohol must not be consumed by a crew while on duty or during 10hr preceding reporting time & must not commence a flight duty period with a blood alcohol level excess of 0.2promille (0.02gram/100ml)
- Blood donation , Vaccination not fly at least 24hr / Deep diving >10m not fly at least 48hr
- In case stepdown duty , Fatigue report summit in 24hr to OCCM
- Medical Condition Unscheduled Landing -> Unconsciousness / Severe Shock / Heart Attack / Stop pulse & breath / Uncontrol bleeding / Internal bleeding / Epileptic fits / Retained Placenta
OMA 8.1.1 Flight Preparation Instructions
- MTCA clear 1000’ up to 6000’ / 2000’ above 6000’ / 5nm SID,STAR / 10nm ATS Route
- MOCA -> effect between VOR guarantee NAVAID in 22nm VOR
- MEA should higher than MTCA & MOCA also clear 5nm of route & guarantee radio & navaid
- MSA not guarantee radio
- operate under MSA เมื่อ establish SID / STAR / instrument APP / radar / Visual APP
OMA 8.1.2 Criteria for determining the Usability of Aerodromes
- RFF 320 required 6 minimum 5 / 321 required 7 minimum 6 / Adequate alternate 4

OMA 8.1.3 Methods for Determination and Use of Aerodrome Operating Minima

- X-Wind L/D 30/25/20kt gust included - dry/wet/heavy rain
- VAT = indicated airspeed at threshold -> aeroplanes categories classification
1.3 VS / 1.23 VS1G(fly by wire) -> category C = 121 - 140kt - ICAO Miss Approach Climb Gradient 2.5%

OMA 8.1.6 Interpretation of Meteorological Information
- CAVOK -> 9999 / no cloud <5000’(NSC) / NOSIG(no significant change in 2hr)
- SIGMET update every 6hr & available 9hr before time in SIGMET
- METAR update every 1,0.5hr
- TAFS update every 6hr valid 24,30hr
- Short TAF update every 3hr valid 9hr
- SPECI -> METAR , AMD -> TAF
- non ETOP flight ค่า gust จาก TAFS disregard ได้

OMA 8.1.7 Determination of the Quantities of Fuel and Oil to be Carried
- Contingency fuel เอาค่ามากระหว่าง
5% trip fuel
5min holding Speed 1500’AAL at Destination ISA - Contingency fuel ใช้ได้ทันทีหลังถอด fuel browser
- Alternate fuel คิดตั้งแต่ a Miss APP / CI = 0
- Final reserve คิด 30 min holding Speed 1500’ at Destination Alternate ISA
- Additional Fuel เช่น ETOP fuel , Company Fuel
- No Economic Tankering fuel in Contaminated Runway
OMA 8.1.11 Thai AirAsia Aircraft Technical Log
- Aircraft Technical Log is mandatory legal document (เอาไว้รับเครื่องจาก Engineer)
- If air turn back , return to bay, PIC shall record in Aircraft Technical Log
- Cancellation cannot be accomplished by tearing pages from Aircraft Technical Log
(draw a diagonal line on that page write “Cancelled” and sign) - When transferring a cabin log to Aircraft Technical Log “TRANSFERRED TO AIRCRAFT TECH LOG”
PIC will sign the statement to signify that he check the Cabin Condition Log
OMA 8.1.12 List of Documents Forms & Additional Information to be carried
- Any delay fuel burn more 100kg shall be annotated in VR
- All timing record in VR must be obtain from ATSU except PIPO
discrepancy more than 2min shall record actual timing & report discrepancy - CP* = company assign PIC
- Enter “TNK” in event of no refueling
OMA 8.2.1 Fuelling Procedure
- A screen capture of fuel order is presented to engineer each time refueling to be made
- Refueling when Embark/Disembark required at least 1 Cockpit Crew / half of Cabin Crew
- Defueling / Mix fueling when passenger on board , embark , disembark is strictly prohibit
- Refueling with 1 Engine running is only permitted at airports with no pneumatic & no APU
OMA 8.2.2 Aircraft Passenger Cargo Handling Procedure
- WCHS อาการหนักสุด > WCHR > WCHC (Wheel Chair with a spillable battery is loaded ,PIC must be inform)
- Pregnancy >= 28 Weeks required Medical Certificate <= 30days (including weeks of pregnant)
Pregnancy >= 35 Weeks is not permitted - Mentally Deficient(ป่วยทางจิต) must authority from company medical desk & escort required
- Asthma(หอบ) can be accept however ground staff will inform SCC in case oxygen required
- ผู้โดยสารห้ามขึ้นเครื่อง Infectious disease(ติดเชื้อ) , Pregnancy >= 35 Weeks , Heart Attack/Stroke in 8 weeks , Stretcher(นอนเปล) , Animal in cabin , Medical treatment by pneumatic/electric which is not allowed
- only a medical doctor can formally pronounce a person dead
- maximum of sitting cases requiring oxygen is 3
- NTL / Deportee / Person in Custody will be inform PIC & not seat at emergency exit

OMA 8.2.2 Cargo Handling Procedure
- Opening doors must not be without permission of PIC
- หากต้องการเปิดประตูหลัง Armed ไปแล้ว PIC ต้องประกาศ “Disarm all doors” เองพร้อมดุ ECAM DOOR page
- On ferry flight with Flight crew only Copilot shall arm/disarm forward door only
- Operate door in strong wind 40/50/65kt Open/Leeward/Close
all servicing equipment removed from aircraft at least 5m , embark/disembark forward cabin only , loading cargo forward first , unloading aft cargo first - minimum ground time 25min
- Recommend not early departure >20min -> no passenger or cargo , no revenue load , bad weather
OMA 8.3.1 VFR/IFR Policy
- AP should be engaged for normal flight >10000’ AAL
AP , A/THR shall be engage for approach in IMC if 300’/1600m above DH/visibility - TAA policy crew shall not cross red stop bar to entering runway without ATC clearance
- When climbing below 10000’ AMSL pilot may accelerate to ECON CLB speed above MSA
- Minimum height for turn 400’ AGL day , VMC / EOACC altitude night , IMC unless EOSID required
- Visual pattern 1500’
- Approach Ban -> if the reported RVR/VIS is less than minimum approach shall not continue
below 1000’ AAL / final segment if DA> 1000’ AAL
if pass 1000’ AAL approach may continue to DA - Touchdown point exceed 1000m for LDA > 2400m or
exceed Touchdown zone marking for LDA < 2400m Go around must be initiated
The Other Fuel Policy
- The crew must carry out regular fuel check at TOC/TOD & every 30min
- Minimum fuel temp = Fuel freezing point + Engine manufacturer margin
- JETA1 freezing point = -47celcius (ECAM advisory -40celcuis)
Descent 1000’ เพิ่ม2celcuis SAT , M 0.01 เพิ่ม 0.5-1celcuis TAT - in exceptional circumstances other fuels in AFM maybe uplifted when JETA1 is not available
- Jet B -> wide-cut fuel (naphtha-kerosene/kerosene30% , gasoline70% / low freezing point)
- MOC authorize required for fuel mixing other than JETA & JETA1
- Freezing point of mixture with JETA more than 10% is considered as JETA
OMA 8.3.9 Wake Turbulence
- TAA จัด B757 เป็น Heavy (ปกติดู MTOW < 136T) และ A380 เป็น Super
- Separation by time T/O 2min (3min if intersection runway) , L/D 2min
- Radar separation Medium behind Medium/Light 3nm , behind Heavy 5nm , behind Super 7nm
OMA 8.3.11 Seatbelt
- During fasten seatbelt when required by PIC in the interest of safety shoulder straps may be unfastened but seatbelt shall remain fastened
- Harness and seatbelt fully fastened when only 1 remaining Flight Crew in Cockpit
- PIC consent is required to turn Seatbelt OFF
- Flight Crew shall not vacate seat <10000’ AGL for purpose of transferring duties to another pilot
OMA 8.3.12 Admission to Flight Deck
- Admission to Flight Deck

OMA 8.7 Non-revenue Flight
- 1 current cabin crew shall be carried for every 50 passengers
- Non-revenue flight ถ้ามี passenger ต้องมี cabin crew เว้น Ferry flight
- Ferry Flight with 1 Engine Inoperative is not permit
- Cabin crew is required for private flight
OMA 8.9 EFB
- Class 2 Type B EFB for TAA
- mounting model: RAM-B-189-TAB3U
- tolerance 2cm from designated location (17.5cm ขอบข้าง ,2.5cm ขอบล่าง)
- FO responsibility for company IPAD (bear full cost base on market price)
- 50% Battery charge EFB at duty time
- EFB charging on ground while aircraft door open / >10000’ (Sterile Cockpit)
- EFB Mount defect shall log in MR1
- after loss of IPAD crew shall inform EFB manager to deactivated applications
(maximum loan30 days) - Base & Hub required 3 EFB / ต่างเบส required 2 EFB
OMA 10 Security
- mandatory to sign & search aircraft before departure from High-Risk flights
- Alcohol must never be served to passenger below 20 years (even parent of the children)
- Whenever Restrain used -> VR / Aircraft Technical Log
- Hijack -> Squawk 7500 “Attention Cabin Crew Charlie*3”
- Bomb -> maintain delta P<1 / Door2R “is there any EOD on board”
PAN PAN MAYDAY
- MAYCAY call -> Aircraft or its occupants are in grave and imminent requiring immediate assistance
- PAN PAN call -> compel it to land without requiring immediate assistance
OMA 14 Crew Regulations
- Documentation Validity not later than 7days before expiry & update along with Staff number
- Logbook are mandatory & record particulars of each flight within 24hr after the end of the flight
- all operating crew are required to be on board the aircraft at least 30min
- must be available to be contacted by OCC 12hr prior to reporting time
- Passport must notify 24hr before report time
- Tolerances of 5min only will be allowed on the reporting time
- Cabin crew avoid entering cockpit until 10min after SIGN OFF & SIGN ON twice consecutively 15min before L/D
- entering bar , liquor store while wearing any part of uniform is strictly prohibited
- Non-uniform items of clothing must not be visible when worn with uniform
Visible Piercing & Tattoo are not allowed
wearing sunglasses is not permitted in the cabin while greeting & bidding farewell
Backpack , Sling bag is not allowed
other jacket , Pilot Bag must be black
Code วันลา
- CL = Casual Sick Leave without certified by doctor but Verified by Flight Ops -> must report to OCC minimum period 3hr from reporting time
- submit medical leave into eMC within 48hr even doesn’t have MC (medical certification) -> CSL
- X = no certified by doctor / 1 = verified by Flight Operation / L = late (Report <3hr)
- AWOL(Absence without Approved Leave) = CSL no certified by doctor & no Verified by Flight Op
- MIA (Missing in action) = ติดต่อไม่ได้ ไม่ไปบินตาม schedule (ใส่เหตุผลได้)
- EL = ขอ AL ในกรณีที่ roster ออกมาแล้ว
CLVE = ลามีคนในครอบครัวตาย ครั้งละไม่เกิน 3 วัน
BL คือการลาไปทำธุระสำคัญที่คนอื่นไปทำแทนไม่ได้ และต้องได้รับอนุญาตก่อนถึงนับว่าเป็นการลา

- APU fuel 130 kg/h (Pack ON / 90 KVA APU GEN) (80 kg for no pack) , 80 kg/h without bleed
Who can Taxi
- TAA pilot left seat qualified
- TAA Engineer who has received instruction
- Trained person and qualified & authorized by company
In-flight Fuel Management
- ประหยัดน้ำมัน ลด CI / optimum Alt / closet Alternate / ขอ Direct
- Continue without alternate fuel -> 1hr before Destination / establish VHF / Estimate Arrival Time , Max delay known / 2 independent runways & suitable for landing / ceiling 1500’ visibility 5000m / Final reserve 30min
- “Minimum Fuel” -> committed to land at specific aerodrome & any change in the existing clearance may result in landing with less than planned final reserve fuel (EFOB=final reserve)
- “Maydayx3 Fuel” -> calculated fuel on landing at nearest aerodrome landing will be less than planned final reserve fuel (EFOB<final reserve)
- flight crew responsibility to ensure that the fuel remaining at touchdown is not less than final reserve
Extend Duty Period
- Extend Duty Period not more than 2hr (3hr with augment crew)
- if allowed increase FDP is exceeded because of unforeseen after T/O flight crew may continue to planned destination or alternate
Rest period following FDP maybe reduce but never be less than 8hr - Divert ไม่นับ Sector แล้ว (รู้ Maximum FDP ตั้งแต่แรก)
Overweight Landing / Hard Landing
Overweight Landing
- at DMK, flight crew shall contact MOC to determine whether overweight landing can be performed
- malfunction affect Airworthiness
- expeditions landing would reduce the exposure to a degrading safety level
- 1 Engine inoperative
- serious illness required medical attention
Hard Landing (sink rate >=600 ft/min)
- shall be recorded in Aircraft Technical Log , MOR , ASR
- when ever LOAD15 generated after L/D , PIC must annotate in MR1 “Suspect Hard Landing”
C/B Reset
- Fuel pump C/B once tripped shall not be reset
- in flight only 1 reset attempt should be made
- Under no circumstances shall a tripped C/B be held in place in “set” position
- Deliberate tripping C/B shall only be with requirements detailed in abnormal/emergency checklist
- green CB monitor by ECAM after pull 1min
- Wing Tip Brake CB have red cap to prevent reset in flight
OMA 7 Flight time limitation
- Sim , Positioning ไปบิน คิด FDP ตั้งแต่ 1hr ก่อน flight แต่ไม่คิด Sector
Positioning กลับ Base ไม่คิด FDP ไม่คิด sector / เริ่มคิด Rest หลัง Positioning flight แลน +30min - Crew on standby must be prepared to depart on flight within 3hr after having been notified & expect ready to leave home in 45min
- Adequate Rest = economy class seat which can recline & stay away from galley & passenger
- Suitable Rest = seat that can recline for a flat separately from cockpit & galley & passenger
- Augment flight crew = crew that comprise more than minimum in which can replace by another crew for purpose of inflight rest
