A
The oil kills all life it touches including corals, the corals food and the algae living on the corals.
Also when cleaning up the oil, if a human touches the coral by accident the coral dies.

A
2010 an oil station in the Gulf of Mexico malfunctioned and spilled 60,000 barrels of oil per day, for 87 days. It was the largest natural oil spill ever.
