Perjury
Perjury is the intentional taking of a false oath (lying) in regard to a material matter (one that might affect the outcome of the case) in a judicial proceeding
Subordination of Perjury
Subordination of perjury consists of procuring or inducing another to commit perjury
Bribery
At common law, bribery was the corrupt payment or receipt of anything of value for official action.
Under modern statutes, it may be extended to nonpublic officials, and either the offering of a bribe or the taking of a bribe may constitute the crime.
GA Bribery
In GA, Bribery consists of:
1) giving or offering to any person acting on behalf of the government any benefit to which they are not entitled with the purpose of influencing them in the performance of their functions of their office; or
2) a public official or government employee soliciting, accepting, or agreeing to receive something of value by inducing the reasonable belief that the giving of the thing will influence the performance or nonperformance of an official act.
Compounding a Crime
Compounding consists of agreeing, for valuable consideration, not to prosecute another for a felony or to conceal the commission of a felony or whereabouts of a felon.
Under modern statutes, it refers to any crime.
Misprision of a Felony
CL - misprision of a felony consisted of the failure to disclose knowledge of the commission of a felony or to prevent the commission of a felony
Modern - misprision is no longer a crime, or if it remains, requires some affirmative action in aid of the felon.
