What does an ode mean ?
An ode is a poem that has the purpose to praise someone or something, in this case O’shaghennsy is praising the artists as they are seen as innovators and the “movers and shakers”
“World losers and world forsakers” means ?
This implies that the life of artists is fairly laborious and not so easy.Which is reinforced by them sitting by the “desolate streams”
“We are the movers and the shakers”

Why has the poet used regular rhyming couplets ?
To echo an almost immortal life of artist and emphasising the fact that they will always be around, this is effectively shown by the use of the rhyming couplets throughout the poem, which in some way creates a positive tone.
How did the poet use religious references ?
“Nineveh” and “Babel”
Why did he use religion ?
To represent the bible, the bible is full of stories and people have been influenced as they write the bible it is creative .
