Compared to a average value articulator which just has a set average 30 degree sagittal condylar angle
Semi adjustable let’s you set the sagittal condylar angle and the lateral condylar angle

Dense articulator

Face bow transfer and interocclusal record

Face bow so get position and angle of maxilla so can mount upper cast then occlude lower with it to get the opening and closing axis of movement that is true in the patient

Needed when doing a reorganised approach of restorations to change occlusion as mounted in retruded axis position (normally mounted for conformative approach and ICP for this where not changing the occlusion
