Answer 1

1. Determine whether she has been infected - serology for maternal IgM antibodies
2. If IgM detected, consider amniocentesis
3. PCR analysis of amniotic fluid will determine whether foetus has been infected
4. If maternal infection diagnosed, foetal surveillance required
5. Foetal anaemia investigated using Doppler US imaging of middle cerebral artery
6. Doppler US fortnightly
