What is the difference between SGA and IUGR?

A

SGA only considers birth wt.- whether pre/post-natal <10th percentile
IUGR- clinical definition- neonate with clinical features of malnutrition and in-utero growth restriction (not birth wt.)

Antenatal: Reduced abdo circumference. Normal head/ parietall

Postnatal: Reduced weight. Normal length/head circumference.
