Younger (teenage/young adult) women who are well off. Still much more common in US.
How often must bulimia occur to be diagnosed?
At least 2/week for 3 months
Patients with bulimia also show problems with…
impulse control. e.g. self-mutilation, sexual promiscuity
What percentage of patients with bulimia have been victims of sexual abuse?
20-50%
Is treatment for bulimia effective?
Extremely, ~50% are entirely symptom-free at 10 years post diagnosis
