Outline Social Identity Theory

A

This is when there is an out group and in group. When you belong to a group, you automatically class the people you meet as either IN the group or OUT the group. You begin to adopt the norm and values of the group you belong to along with viewing yourself as superior to the out-group. This leads to prejudice and discrimination.
