Describe Respect
Respect is about recognising the importance of the participants.
This includes:
∙ Informing - giving enough information for them to give informed consent
∙ Privacy - not to share personal data without their agreement
∙ Dignity - not to lump people together and act on stereotypes
Describe Integrity
This involved honesty and accuracy in how research is conducted and published
This includes:
∙ not deceiving participants
∙ professionalism
∙ collegiality
Describe Responsibility
Making sure the research leads to good outcomes for everyone involved
∙ Should serve the common good, and be beneficial for those who took part
∙ Debriefing ‘leaving things how you found them’
∙ Professional competence, only help if you are qualified to
