What is socialisation?
When an individuals beliefs, attitudes, morals and values play a significant role in what they do or don’t in everyday life. Based on societal norms and values which we have internalised
What is gradual commitment?
Makes it easier to get people to obey in small stages - making it harder to say no because they did it by a small amount
What is a buffer?
Any aspect of a situation that protects people from having to confront that consequences of their actions.
The environment that orders take place can also act as a buffer - suggests people are more likely to follow orders if given in an appropriate environment
