Before moving body

Record the position of the body by sketch or photo,
Consider measurements, record all details of body, consider health risks, cover hands feet and head with paper bags, ensure clothing does not get contaminated, body into body bag, sketch where body was, retain all sheets etc as exhibits, get permission to remove he body, arrange undertaker.

At mortuary

Don’t wash body, label body, retain key used to lock body away, keep body in current condition, arrange identification.

Stripping the body

Pathologist must be present, get the body, remove from body bag, direct photographer, remove clothing, make inventory of clothing, label each item, seal each item, do not cross contaminate, maintain security, consider trace evidence.
