What is team nursing?
he team nursing model of care involves pairing nurses who work as a team to deliver patient care

Task Orientated
Focuses on the jobs to be completed
Gives authority and responsibility to the person assigning the work
Primary nursing
An RN assumes responsibility for developing a 24 hrs/day nursing plan of care and for integrating the plan.
Patient centered
This models is designed to focus on patient needs rather than staff needs.
Comprehensive
Provides cost effective quality care that focuses on decreased costs and improved outcomes for groups of clients.
Family centred
Place client and family needs first with a client-focused approach.
Integrated
Assess clients and their homes and communities.
Coordinates and plans client care.
Monitors clients’ progress.
Evaluating client outcomes
Progressive
One nurse is assigned to and is responsible for the comprehensive care of a group of clients during an 8 or 12 hour shift.
For each client, the nurse assesses needs, makes nursing plans, formulates diagnoses, implements and evaluates the effectiveness of care.
