When is informed consent needed?
Before non emergent responses.

Provider’s role with consent?
Explain procedure. Answer all questions.
Nurse role with consent?
Be present during the PT signature. Act as a witness.
Define Advance Directives
Giving advance directions for personal wishes of medical care for when the PT is unable to make decisions.
