Numa made peace with his neighbours and sulphur the doors

After the war with Carthage (one of rome’s greatest wars)
After Octavian won the battle of Actium and made peace
How Numa controlled the people
He controlled the people with fear of the gods
Numa said he had met the goddess Egeria and said that she had told him to set up the rituals and priesthoods
-he continued to do this so set up a holy place for her
What the religiousness showed about Numa’s character
He was a clever leader
Shows he didn’t have much real religious feeling- just a tool for control
But did set up religious ceremonies
