Q

How many default logs are there, and what information do they provide?

A

Three default logs are pre-configured and reserved by the system. Log ID 99 contains all severity levels of events fromthe source main and log ID 100 only contains events with severity levels of major or critical from the source main. LogID 101 is pre-configured with NETCONF as the destination, meaning that event messages would be sent to anyconnected NETCONF clients, but it does not store any events by default as no event source is pre-configured

Q

What is a management datastore and how many types are there in a Nokia 7750 SR?

A

It is a tree-shaped data structure where management information is stored. There are two types:* Configuration datastore, which holds the complete set of configuration information required to get a device fromits initial default state into a desired operational state.* State datastore, which holds operational state and statistics

Q

If the management interface configuration mode has been configured as model-driven, which CLI engines areauthorized? Which ones in the mixed mode? Which ones in the classic mode?

A

In the model-driven mode, both CLI engines are authorized, but the classic CLI is only allowed to read theconfiguration, not to modify it. In the mixed mode, both CLI engines are also authorized, and the configuration can bemodified using either CLI engine. Lastly, in classic mode, only the classic CLI engine is authorized.

Q

Which candidate configuration datastore do you gain access to in each of the configuration edit modes?

A

The global, exclusive and read only configuration edit modes give a user access to the global candidate configuration. The private configuration edit mode gives a user access to its own private candidate configuration.

Q

How many users can concurrently enter each of the configuration edit modes?

A

Multiple users can enter the global configuration edit mode concurrently. The same applies to the read-only mode.Combinations of multiple global and read-only users are allowed. Only one user is allowed at a time in the exclusiveconfiguration edit mode. Any number of users can enter the private configuration edit mode concurrently, as they donot interfere with each other by each having its own separate candidate configuration to work on.

Q

There are two ways of entering a configuration edit mode: implicitly and explicitly. What are the main differencesbetween the two?

A

Both options allow the user to move freely between contexts that have the “configure” command as its root. Becauseof that, both options allow users to list or modify any element in the configuration datastore. However, if a user in theimplicit mode goes back to the root context, it automatically exits the configuration edit mode, which does not happenin the explicit mode. A user in the explicit mode needs to issue the quit-config command to explicitly tell the routerthat it wants to exit the configuration edit mode. Another difference is that a user in the implicit mode cannot move toa context outside the “configuration” branch, while a user in the explicit mode can.
