  • Prevent clot extension + recurrent in DVT + PE

- Prevent embolic complications (stroke) in AF + heart valve replacement

What is the mechanisms of action

A
  • Inhibits hepatic production of vit K (in its reduced form) dependant coagulation factors/cofactors.

Inhibits vitamin K epoxide reductase = prevent reactivation of vit K & coagulation factor synthesis.
