What was the trial about
Dover county school board wanted to not include Darwins theory of evolution in the high school biology courses - instead they wanted to teach students intelligent design. A parent sued the school board for pushing christianity beliefs onto the children by disguising creationism with intelligent design
What evidence was presented at the trial
Papers where is was obvious creationism and intelligent design were the same thing and came from the same books, newspapers, articles, and people
Judges decision
Intelligent design was based on creationism and was not to be taught in school based on the first amendment right
Why might evolutionary biology stir such passions in some people?
People have a hard time not knowing everything and not being able to give a direction reason to why things have happened. Religion is an ‘easy’ answer to evolution, and it was what most older people were taught growing up.
