It seems like it will rain tonight. (The state of being verb seems links it with it will rain tonight.)
A helping verb is a verb or verb used in verb phrases
A helping verb is a verb or verb used in verb phrases to express tense (time), mood, or voice (passive).
She has been training to become a teacher. (The helping verbs has been tells the time frame (tense) of her training. Her training started in the past and continues until now.)
She will be successful in her new job. (The helping verbs will be tells the reader that her success is in the future.)
