Gramatical Categories of Determiners
- Articles: a, an, the
- Pronouns (demonstrative, possessive, relative, indefinite)
- Numerals: cardinals (1,2,3,…) & ordinals (first, second..)
- a few Adjectives (half, whole, several, various, enough)
Classification of Determiners
a) Pre-Determiners: all, both, half and quantifiers such as some of, none of, a few of, lots of, etc.
b) Central Determiners: the, a, this, that, my, yours, … , some, any, no, either, no
! NOTE: if words like ”some, any, either, neither” appear as quantifiers in expressions like ”some of, any of, either of etc” they are pre-determiners, not central determiners.
c) Post determiners: whole, various, very, only, certain, next, few, little, many, etc.

NPhr 2 (a present) = CD (a) + head-noun (present)
