Notes Flashcards
Examples of distance-vector routing protocols include
RIP
EIGRP
link-state routing protocol
OSPF
Differentiated services or DiffServ
Differentiated services or DiffServ is a computer networking architecture that specifies a simple and scalable mechanism for classifying and managing network traffic and providing quality of service (QoS) on modern IP networks.
Class of Service (CoS)
Class of Service (CoS) is a way of managing traffic in a network by grouping similar types of traffic (for example, e-mail, streaming video, voice, large document file transfer) together and treating each type as a class with its own level of servicepriority.
Teredo
An IPv4-to-IPv6 transition mechanism with native support for Network Address Translation (NAT) is known as:
NDP
Neighbor Discovery Protocol. An IPv6 protocol performing the function of IPv4’s Address Resolution Protocol (ARP).
Also used by routers to advertise their presence on a network; and for nodes looking for routers.
SDN
Software-defined networking (SDN) technology is an approach to cloud computing that facilitates network management and enables programmatically efficient network configuration in order to improve network performance and monitoring.[1] SDN is meant to address the fact that the static architecture of traditional networks is decentralized and complex while current networks require more flexibility and easy troubleshooting.
