- If over 60-70 km and frequent, can damage younger vines
What are the benefits of wind?
Chases away pest and diseases
Echalas (TP structure)
Vines supported by stakes gives structure and protection from wind

Syrah Style in Crozes-Hermitage and reason why it’s different than “usual”

Liquorice
Viognier Growing Conditions
- Difficult grape to cultivate
- Must be picked riped and late - lack of acidity
- Lack of aromatic - due to being picked earlier for acidity
- Low Yielding
- Shed blossom easy - issues with mildew and susceptible to botrytis
Viognier Wine Making
- Careful handling - to not become overly oily/textured
- Pressing
- Glisteral effect - skin contact will have to be avoided as there may be an issue with oily/textured
- Some new oak used
Viognier Style
- High alcohol
- Low Acidity
- Full-bodied
