Leif errikson discovered Vinland in about the year 1000 he bought a ship and hired a crew and sailed hoping to find a settlement

Climate was mild saw grapes so called the region Vinland (wine land) historians think the name flatter than Newfoundland like his dad Eric Greenland no farming evidence but ship repairing the metal work maybe repair for ships historians think a small group with a single chief

How successful was the settlement and why what impact did the Vikings have
They only stayed for 20years non one else leaving there but perhaps might have gone in search for a better land since no evidence for farming suggest is hard to grow crops
