Plasma Sodium
Na = 140 mEq/L
Plasma Potassium
K = 4.5 mEq/L
Plasma Chloride
Cl = 104 mEq/L
Plasma CO2
CO2 = 27 mEq/L
Plasma Glucose (Fasting)
Glu = 90 mg/dL
Plasma Creatinine
Cr = 1.0 mg/dL
BUN
BUN = 12 mg/dL
Plasma Phosphorus
P = 4.0 mg/dL
Plasma Calcium
Ca = 9.5 mg/dL
Plasma Cholesterol
Cholesterol = 140-200 mg/dL
Plasma Osmolality
285 mOsm/kg H2O
Plasma Anion Gap
Anion Gap = 9mEq/L
Urine sodium
Low (under 10) sodium suggest increased tubular reabsorption; high (over 40) suggests decreased tubular reabsorption
Urine Potassium
Relavent only in light of plasma K+.
Urine Creatinine
Viewed in concert with plasma creatinine (Ucr/Pcr) Over 20 suggests high water reabsorption, under 10 suggests low water reabsorption
Urine osmolality range
~50 - 1000 mOsm/kg H2O (Plasma is ~285)
Urine Specific gravity
1.010 is isotonic (less is dilute, more is concentrated)
Low pH limit
Less than 5.2 if faced with increased acid load
ABG pH
pH = 7.42 (sea level)
ABG O2
O2 = 94 (sea level)
ABG CO2
CO2 = 38 (sea level)
ABG HCO3-
HCO3- = 24
