Basic Esophoria
equal eso at distance and near high tonic vergence reduced NFV- low BI no - high MEM- lag
Fusional Vergence Dysfunction
normal phorias and accommodation
both NFV and PFV are low
BI, BO, NRA, PRA all low, fails +/-

Symptoms of Accommodative Infacility
blur when going from distance to near or vice versa
Accommodative Insufficiency
difficulty stim accom- blur at near reduced AA no - small eso high MEM
Ill-Sustained Accommodation
normal testing, but accom deteriorates over time
early sign of accommodative insufficiency
Accommodative Paralysis
associated with infection, glaucoma, diabetes
unequal accommodation
Causes of Accommodative Insufficiency
ocular disease, systemic or neurological conditions, trauma, meds
Pseudoconvergence Insufficiency
difficulty accommodating, so underaccommodates to target- low AA cant converge- low BO no - high MEM Exo at near
Accommodative Excess
more accommodation than necessary
difficulty relaxing accom
no +
low BI
Symptoms of Accommodative Excess
blurred vision after near work
worse at end of day
Confirming Accommodative Excess
