Collective and evolutionary con

A

Collective: beliefs agreed on by those in same Soc, acts are bad because society disapproves of it and binds individuals together, creating social cohesion

Evolutionary: Soc to grow stronger, its a survival mechanism developed by people sharing the same moral values

Con exists as social and evolutionary phenomena and good con = Soc to survive

WEAKNESSES:

If regard coll. con. Of a asoc as ‘evil’ (nazi germany) then you wont approve of mechanism by which socs values are sustained
If role of con = challenge existing values then coll. con. = no value

Coll. Con go against norms of religion and inds
