Non-QRC memory items Flashcards
WINDSHEAR ESCAPE MANEUVER
The windshear escape maneuver is performed whenever the following happens:
A warning windshear is annunciated during approach.
PFD: WSHEAR (red)
Voice message: “WINDSHEAR, WINDSHEAR, WINDSHEAR.”
A caution windshear is annunciated during approach and the captain decides to perform the windshear recovery
technique
PFD: WSHEAR (amber)
Voice message: “CAUTION WINDSHEAR.”
Whenever the captain decides to perform the recovery techniques due to the presence of windshear cues without EGPWS announcement
Windshear escape maneuver due to EGPWS announcement
Advance thrust levers to MAX and press the TOGA button;
* Follow flight director guidance;
* Do not change flaps or landing gear configuration until out of the windshear condition and
terrain clearance assured;
* Reduce thrust to climb power, retract landing gear and slats/flaps when the airplane is out of
the windshear condition.
PM calls climbing or descending based on VSI indications
When the Caution/Warning WSHEAR indicator on the PFD disappears, the PM states
“WINDSHEAR WARNING GONE” or “WINDSHEAR CAUTION GONE.”
When the radar altimeter indicates less than 1,000 ft AGL and the airplane is descending, the
PM calls “DESCENDING (___)” based upon the RA value observed.

Max Thrust,
Pitch for 20 degrees and maintain pitch on PLI respecting stick shaker,
Retract spoilers (when required),
Maintain present aircraft configuration until terrain separation is achieved,
Climb to MSA or MORA,
When clear of terrain, resume normal flight and clean up the aircraft.
PM
Verify all PM actions are taking place,
Communicate with ATC,
Pax sign on,
Scan for visual references,
Call out RA indications as applicable,
Read MFD terrain page and maintain situational awareness.
Discontinue procedure (IAP)
To discontinue an approach without pressing the TOGA button, use the callout “DISCONTINUE”
and perform the following actions:
1. Deselect APP, if armed. Verify/select desired lateral mode displayed on the FMA.
2. Set appropriate airspeed.
3. Set appropriate altitude and select FLCH.
4. Sequence the missed approach using the MISSED APPR prompt on FMS FLT PLAN page.
5. Select go-around flaps.
6. Select gear up.
7. Call, “CLIMB SEQUENCE, AFTER TAKEOFF CHECKLIST.”
Speed limit of 165kts for CAT D aircraft on RNP approach.
PRM breakout
Push HDG and set bug,
Set appropriate speed,
Set an appropriate altitude and select FLCH,
Select Go- Around flap,
Select LDG up,
Call “Climb Sequence, after takeoff checklist”
