Moderate non purulent SSTI
Failed mild treatment
Signs of systemic infection fever>38C
No tests
Mild non purulent SSTI
No systemic signs
No tests
Severe non purulent SSTI
Failed moderate therapy
Meet 2 or more SIRs criteria
Or immunocomprimised (HIV CD4<200, transplant recipient, cancer with ongoing chemo
I&D + C&S
Mild non purulent SSTI treatment
Oral strep drugs:
PCN VK, dicloxicillin, clindamycin, cephalosporins
Moderate non purulent SSTI treatment
IV strep drugs:
PCN G, ceftriaxone, cefazolin, Clindamycin
Severe non purulent SSTI treatment
IV for polymicrobial infection:
Vancomycin+piperacillin-Tazobactum
Non purulent
Necrotizing, cellulitis, erysipelas
Pain, swelling, erythema, and warmth
Borders are not elevated
Spreading infections usually seen in lower regions in adults( neck in children)
