Autobiography
A story about a person written by that person them self.
Allusion
Reference to a well known thing
Biography
A story about a person written by a different person.
Connotation
The feeling associated with a word or set of words.
Denotation
The dictionary definition of the words used in text.
Dialect
The way a person speaks to another according to the region they’re from.
Diction
The words a person chooses to use.
Editorial
An article based on a persons opinions.

Periodical
An article based on facts that comes out periodically

Plagiarism
When a person illegally copy’s a piece of published work and claims it as their own falsely.
Fact
A statement that has been/ can be proved true.
Opinion
A statement based solely upon ones thoughts/ feelings. It can not be proven true.
Statistics
Facts based upon numbers.
• calculating birth/ death/ disease/ natural disaster/ average population/ climate/ stocks
Stereotype
When a person is judged indirectly due to the place they live/ people they associate with/ etc.
• cheerleaders and jocks
Irony
- Verbal- when a person or character says something and means the exact opposite
- Situational- when an event goes in the exact opposite way it was meant to be
• Dramatic- when the audience knows something the characters do not
