points to consider before prescribing bisphosphonates

A
  • previous hx of GI bleeds/ulcers
  • eGFR >35
  • cognitive impairment?/
  • if stop/miss dose can worsen bone density
  • must have normal calcium (can cause hypocalcaemia)
