How do allergens affect people
Allergens cause the body to produce anti-bodies to attack the allergen, and bind to cells to create a chemical mediated reaction that produces symptoms
Describe the difference between a primary survey in adults vs children
In adults a primary survey consists of an ABC evaluation and an RBS. In children a primary survey consists of the PAT. In younger children an RBS should be performed from toes up to build trust
Describe the differences between a medical and trauma primary assessment
Trauma primary assessments focus on finding injuries and controlling life-threatening bleeding.
Medical primary assessments focus on finding clues to the presenting medical condition-but is primarily a verbal assessment
