They can be inside a computer case or connected to the case via cables

what are input devices?
input devices are hardware devices that allow the user to input data and instructions to a computer system
what are the most common input devices?
keyboard, mouse, mouse alternatives (touchpad, trackball), microphone, digital camera, webcam, scanner, touch screen, stylus, game controllers
(steering wheel, joystick), barcode reader/scanner.
what are output devices?
output devices are hardware devices that allow the user to receive data from a computer system
what are the most common output devices?
monitor (screen), headphones, speakerphones, printer, projector and others
how many categories are there for storage and what are they?
there are 2 categories of storage. they are short-term storage and long-term storage.
what is short-term storage?
short-term stores data and instructions as long as the program is running or the computer system is on
what is long-term storage?
long-term stores data and instructions even after the computer system is shut down. Files are stored until the user deletes them.
what is the short-term storage in a computer? and what does it do?
Short-term storage in a computer system is the RAM (random access memory).
It stores data/instructions as long as the program is running or the computer is on.
