types of vision (PHAK 17-20)

Photopic- seeing color and fine detail. need good illumination
Mesopic- uses cones and rods, dusk, dawn, and full mood
Scotopic- low light level rods only

scanning technique (PHAK 17-23)
A
30 degree section overlap 10 degrees stop no longer than 2 to 3 seconds. 10 degree off set of object to look at object 2-3 sec stops at most

Night illusions (PHAK 17-26)
A
autokinisis- stationary light moving
false horizon- horizon looks like it’s in different spot
Reversible perspective- aircraft appear moving away but actually approaching
size-distance- light intensity fluctuates so objects looks like it’s moving closer or away
