His work started getting famous only after he became mentally unstable/a vegetable. His sister took advantage of that and would groom him and set up appointments for him, where he didn’t actually say anything of value.

• Nietzsche idolized Wagner and was a big part of his famous circle, becoming entrenched in Wagner’s family. ——Wagner didn’t really care about Nietzsche because he was essentially a fanboy who gave Wagner great publicity, but to Nietzsche, Wagner’s circle was his entire life. Once he decided to leave that circle due to their ideologies, he essentially became a social outcast and lost his idol and his social circle.
