Newtons Laws Flashcards
2nd Law
An object will accelerate (proportionately to the unbalanced force) in the direction in which the unbalanced force is applied.
1st Law
An object will remain at rest or will remain in motion, traveling in a straight line and a constant speed, until an unbalanced force acts on it.
3rd Law
For every action force there is an equal and opposite reaction force.
Inertia
An object’s tendency to resist change.
Elastic Collisions
When objects collide without being deformed or generate heat. The momentum is transferred.
Inelastic Collission
When the colliding objects become deformed or generate heat while colliding.
Momentum
Inertia in motion. Mass x Velocity.
Impulse
The product of the force acting on an object and the time during which it acts.
