Newton's First Law Of Motion Flashcards
What is force?
A push or pull
What is inertia?
How hard it is to change an object’s motion
What is Mass?
The measure of inertia
What is weight?
The force of gravity on an object
Is force a vector or scalar?
Vector, because it moves in a direction
What is mass measured in?
Kg
Is weight negative?
Yes
Why is wight negative?
Because weight is the gravitational pull on a object, and gravity “points” down.
Is weight vector or scalar?
Vector: down
What does “g” stand for?
Acceleration due to gravity
What is net force?
The sum of all forces acting on an object
If an object Is in equilibrium, what is its motion?
It’s not moving, or it is moving at a constant velocity.
What is equilibrium?
When the net force is zero.
Is force a vector or scalar?
Vector, bc they always have a direction, weather it is down (negative), up or sideways.
