When should the SpO2 scale be used?
A
When patient is in Type 2 Respiratory failure (O2 low and CO2 high)

Why is it always better to manually take a patient’s pulse for the purposes of assessment?
A
Machines can read things incorrectly - eg in a patient with AF, the machine may read a pulse that is higher than the pulse taken over a minute.
