How did they centralize power?
they determined the religion of the people
What was their deal with the nobles and clergy?
They wanted to reduce their power but they needed them on their side because they needed money from nobles
Why did the kings need money?
they needed it to make money for the military revolution which would end power of the knights
Monarchs didn’t trust nobles so what did they do?

relied on middle class townspeople to collect taxes and keep records

How come the king trusted the burgeoisie?
they were extremely loyal because of their great governmental class

Who are the representative bodies what what did they do?
Representative bodies were made up of nobles and they were supposed to check the monarchs against overtaxing
Why did the monarchs want more money
infrasturcture, armies, economic growth
what did the monarchs do in order to avoid the representative bodies?
they would tax the lower classes more
