Traditional media was physical for radio waves, new media is digital through the internet

Traditional media had set time schedules, new media can be accessed anytime anywhere with internet access

Age
Gender
Geographical location
How do the three demographics reflect new media
Age: New media can span all types of ages from Gen Z to Boomers, however Gen Z and millennials use new media are most active on new media platforms like Netflix
Gender: Gender can reflects what type of new media is consumed, for example female users use apps like Pinterest and Insta where make users use more twitter and reddit
Geographical location: More urban areas with higher economic value will have more devices along with better internet have more opportunities to consume new media
2 ways that interactivity in new media has changed or enhanced media
User engagement has enhanced, as traditional media feedback was only applied via mailing, physical or electronic. However new media brought functions such as likes, comments and shares. Through likes media influencers and companies can see there viewers perception of their media, comments also show how they feel towards it, and shares show the viewers need to spread the media.
Another improvement from traditional media to new media is the improvement of ease to build and cultivate communities, as the internet garners the easy creation of forums and places for people to speak to each others resulting in communities to be created and flourish as easy it is to type
What is a Filter Bubble?
recently coined term, a situation where an algorithm guesses selectively what information a user would like to see based on previous behavior, likes, clicks and shares. It is primarily gauged by personal algorithms that trailer the content to your preferences. It keeps media set to limited information that reinforces their existing beliefs, potentially missing out on other opinions
What is an EchoChamber
an echo chamber is an environment where a person only encounters information or opinions that reflect their own, it’s often created by social interactions where people (Formed by social interactions, reinforce existing views)
Difference between Echo Chamber and Filter Bubble
A Filter bubble is created by algorithms that limit informations

Social media has the power to make it easy for fake news to spread easily and quickly
Fake news can influence and be created quickly
The algorithms used by these platforms can amplify and prioritize content that it more like to generate engagement, regardless of its accuracy
