Q

Why did unemployment persist despite the New Deal?

A
  1. Economic Recovery was Slow: The programs of the New Deal provided temporary relief, but they didn’t fully restore economic growth until the onset of World War II.
  2. Industrial Output: The recovery of industries was gradual, and many businesses were hesitant to hire due to lingering economic uncertainty.
  3. Lack of Consumer Demand: Consumer spending remained weak, which limited the ability of the economy to grow rapidly and create jobs.
