high mortality vs high morbidity
high mortality is more broad meaning the illness will likely take their life in 10-20 years, while terminal refers to the next few weeks-months
what was found with survivability rates with cancer patients?
metastatic breast cancer participants in a weekly support group over the course of 1yr had double the survivability rates compared to the control group in a 10 year follow up. However, survival benifit rates disappeared in a 4 year support group. They found psychosocial benifits consistant though
