Low neutrophil count(absolute neutrophil count <1.5 x 10^9/litre)
- increase risk of infection and sepsis, especially in chemotherapy
- use recombinant human granulocye-colony stimulating factor (rhG-CSF)
- Filgrastim,lenograstim,pegfilgrastim,lipegfilgrastim
- stimulates neutrophil production = reduces duration of chemotherapy induced neutropenia - reduced incidence of febrile neutropenia
