Hyperacute stroke (<24h)
MRI Isointense T1, Dark T2
Acute (1-3 days)
MRI bright T1, Dark T2
Early subacute (3-7 days)
MRI bright T1, Bright T2
Late subactute (7-14 days)
MRI dark T1, dark T2
Chronic (> 14 days)
Most common artery affected in stroke
Middle cerebral artery (MCA)
Artery affected in contralateral hemiparesis + ipsilat hemianopsia + preferential gaze toward side of the lesion
Middle cerebral artery (MCA)
Artery affected in contralat homonymous hemianopsia + cortical blindness + visual agnosia + impaired memory
Posterior cerebral artery (PCA)
Artery affected in brainstem deficits, crossed findings (ipsilat CN deficits & contralat motor deficits)
Vertebrobasilar system
Artery affected in primitive reflexes, contralat weakness (greater in legs than arms)
Anterior cerebral artery (ACA)
Empty sella
Flattening of posterior aspect of the globe
Distention of perioopotic subarachnoid space
Transverse venous sinus stenosis
Pseudotumor cerebri w/o papilledema
