The 4 main lobes of the brain and what are they responsible for?

A

The four main lobes of the brain include the frontal lobe, temporal lobe, occipital lobe, and parietal lobe. The frontal lobe is responsible for motor control, language, and emotion, the temporal lobe is responsible for hearing, memory, and emotion, the occipital lobe is responsible for connecting visual things into words such as seeing a book and recognising it is one, and the parietal lobe is responsible for processing information from the body’s senses

What are the 4 main lobes and their locations?

A

The frontal lobe, parietal lobe, occipital lobe, and temporal lobe. The frontal lobe is located at the front of the brain, the parietal lobe is located behind the frontal at the top of a head, the occipital lobe is at the back of the brain, and the temporal lobe is on the side of the head.

These functions are also known as the limbic system, these parts of the brain the amygdala, hippocampus, and prefrontal cortex work together to regulate and understand the behavioural and emotional responses of a person.

What are neurotransmitters/ hormones? What are these four hormones responsible for

A

Neurotransmitters and hormones are chemicals that carry information through the nervous system to the brain. The four hormones dopamine is responsible for reward, happiness, and motivation, oxytocin is responsible for love, social bonds, and stress reduction, cortisol is responsible for stress, metabolism, and immune system, and serotonin is responsible for mood, sleep and appetite.

A

Having balanced levels of all these hormones leads to an improved mood better management of emotions and better relationships. A unbalance or low levels of these hormones can lead to effects in mental and physical heal of the parson
