What is raised intracranial pressure?

A

mean CSF pressure over 200mm H20
caused by increased CSF volume, maybe due to intracranial space occupying lesion - neoplasm, haemorrhage, abscess, cerebral odema

A

herniation
subfalcial
transtentorial
tonsillar - may cause compression of medulla with impairment of vital resp and cardiac functions
