Q

What is the purpose of myelin sheath?

A
  • Protects the axon.
  • Speeds up the electrical transmission of the impulse.

Q

What is the reflex arc?

A
  • Info is picked up by the sensory neuron.
  • This sends a signal to the CNS.
  • The signal is then passed to a relay neuron.
  • The relay neurons send the signal around the CNS to a motor neuron.
  • The motor neurons send the signal away from the CNS to the effectors to carry out the relfex action.
