What are the parts of the Motor Neuron
A
Dendrite
Axon
Myelin sheath
Neuro fibril node
8
Q
AO1 for synaptic transmission (full)?
A
- Action potential passes down the axon as an electrical impulse in the pre-synaptic neuron
- Action potential stimulates the synaptic vesicles which hold the neurotransmitters and release them
- Neurotransmitters then carry the signal across the synaptic gap, binding to the receptor sites of the post-synaptic cell
- They then produce an excitatory or inhibitive effect on the post-synaptic cell
